THE ROOTS INITIATIVE

THE ROOTS INITIATIVE

After more than five years of ministry in the Town of Herndon, we believe it is time to start intentionally preparing to acquire a facility for our church. The Roots Initiative is all about financially positioning ourselves to take advantage of an opportunity to purchase or long-term lease a property as the Lord leads. This begins by establishing a "Roots Fund" for this purpose.

After more than five years of ministry in the Town of Herndon, we believe it is time to start intentionally preparing to acquire a facility for our church. Information about the Roots Initiative

We are asking everyone to pray about contributing to the Roots Fund in one of two ways:

  1. The first way is through making a generous, one-time, end of year donation to Grace Hill Church in December and designate it towards “The Roots Fund.”
  2. The second way is through making a 12-month pledge to “The Roots Fund” and contribute monthly to the “The Roots Fund” on a monthly basis through 2023.

Our prayer is that this December, we will have begun to build a strong fund through end-of-year donations and/or 2023 pledges to position our church financially to be able to acquire a facility in the Lord’s timing.

There are two ways you can contribute to the Roots Initiative this December.

You can make a one-time, end of year gift over and above your normal monthly contribution. If you plan on giving more than your normal monthly giving as an end-of-year gift, please follow these instructions:

  1. Make your normal monthly donation for December to the “General Fund”. This is important as we still need our normal monthly donations for operations.
  2. For your additional gift, please designate that towards “The Roots Fund.” If you give online, choose “The Roots Fund” from the drop-down menu.
  3. If you give by check, make your check out to “Grace Hill Church” and write “Roots” in the memo line. You can drop your check in the Give Box on Sunday morning or mail it to 1020 Elden Street, Suite 205, Herndon, VA 20170. Remember, if you mail in a check, for your gift to count as a charitable contribution for the 2022 tax year, your envelope must be postmarked by December 31, 2022.
  4. If you would like to donate stock, please follow the instructions on how to donate stock to Grace Hill Church FOUND HERE. Please e-mail Evan Snyder (evan@gracehillchurch.com) to inform him that your stock donation should be designed to “The Roots Fund.”

Make a pledge to The Roots Initiative by pledging to make twelve, monthly contributions to The Roots Initiative in 2023 in addition to your normal monthly giving. To make a pledge, please follow these instructions:

  1. CLICK HERE to submit your pledge online.
  2. Once we receive your pledge, you will receive instructions on how to setup a separate, recurring donation that will go directly to the Roots Fund.

Or do both!!

Do you have a specific financial goal?

  • No. We are starting the process of building a fund to position ourselves in the event an opportunity arises.

Do you have a specific property you are pursuing?

  • Not at this time. We are always keeping our eye on possibilities but at this time, we do not have any properties or buildings that we are actively pursuing or looking at.

Will there be another capital campaign in the future?

  • Most likely. The Roots Initiative is about stewarding our money well in order to be financially prepared to pursue a facility. When the right opportunity comes our way, the possibility of needing to raise additional funds is likely.
