Men have gathered around sporting events for generations, largely because staring directly at another man and saying, "Tell me about your hopes, fears, and emotional wounds," remains deeply unsettling. Instead, we invented football. A sporting event provides the perfect environment for male friendship. You can sit shoulder-to-shoulder without making excessive eye contact. You can ask, "How's life?" and then immediately say, "they should run the ball here!" if things get too vulnerable. For many of us, it's the closest to therapy we will get. So join the men of Grace Hill for our NFL Watch Party as the Detroit Lions take on the Buffalo Bills in what experts are calling the best game of the week and what your wives call, "that's tonight?!? You didn't mention that before..."
Food Theme: Wing Night. Bring wings to share. Traditional wings. Boneless wings. Smoked wings. Grilled wings. Buffalo wings. Garlic parmesan wings. Korean wings. Dry rub wings. We are not here to settle the theological debate over whether boneless wings are actually wings. We are here to celebrate the fact that someone had the courage to deep fry a bird, cover it in sauce, dip it in white sauce, and say, "it was very good." Whether you're a lifelong football fanatic, a casual fan, or someone who only watches for snacks, come hang out with other men pursuing faith, friendship, and the increasingly difficult task of staying awake past halftime.

Plan to join the men of Grace Hill for their third annual retreat.
We'll be heading to Camp Eder, 75 miles from home, deep among the woods, apple orchards, campfires, and the comforting absence of email notifications and Saturday kids sports. The retreat will include Bible study, discipleship, prayer, sports, fishing, games, good food, meaningful conversations, and enough quiet to remember what your own thoughts sound like.
