When the prophet Habakkuk prayed that God would bring change to the backsliding nation of Israel, this issue came to the forefront. Habakkuk begged God for revival and that He would turn the hearts of faithless people back to Him.

God’s answer to Habakkuk was, “Take a look at the nations and watch what happens! You will be shocked and amazed” (1:5, The Voice). The vision God gave Habakkuk was one of warfare and exile. How do you respond when God answers your prayers in a way that seems out of line with his character and promises?

Men of Grace Hill, join us for a night of fellowship, faith, and fire in Keith Good’s backyard. Since the dawn of time, men have been drawn to fire. It cooked our food, warmed our homes, protected our families, lit our path, and gave every man in history a reason to stand in a semi-circle and silently poke something with a stick. We’ll begin the evening with a simple spiritual exercise: seeing who can call fire down from heaven first. Think Elijah on Mount Carmel meets Survivor immunity challenge, but with lower stakes and more cargo shorts. From there, we’ll fan the flames of friendship, strike up conversations, and gather around the sacred glow of burning wood like generations of men before us... all quietly wondering if the fire needs one more log. It does. It always does. But placed just so. Food theme: Fire & Smoke Bring something spicy, fiery, smoky, or loosely flame-adjacent. Smoked almonds, jalapeño ranch chips, jerky, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, buffalo dip, salsa, or anything that makes someone say, “It's actually not that hot,” right before visibly regretting it. Don’t let this night go up in smoke. Bring a chair, bring a snack, bring a friend, and prepare for an evening that will be lit in the most biblically defensible way possible.
