When Everything Feels Like Too Much | Psalm 11

1. Read Psalm 11. What stands out to you in this text?

2. Where do you instinctively go when life feels overwhelming? Where did David go? Why do you believe he did this? (v.1)

3. What part of your life feels shaken (ex. a relationship, hope, health issue, or circumstance)? How does knowing that God is still on His throne and that He’s with you reshape how you approach the situation? (see v. 3-4)

4. What is the basis for David’s trust in the Lord when “everything felt like too much”? (hint: two reasons! see v. 4-5)

5. Read verses 6-7. How does remembering God’s future judgement for the righteous and the wicked provide strength and endurance?

6. In this Psalm, we see David find refuge in the Lord like one finds shade from the sun under a tree. How might this change how you view a season of suffering or difficulty?
